Wow. I was just spending some time doing some work and adding a new article to our Thunderbird Sky blog, and realized that it's been over a year since I've posted over here in my personal blog. Sheesh. I think it's time to start posting again.

Lots has happened in the past year. One of the last posts I made was the fact that I was working on the business full time, which unfortunately, came to an end last fall. I've got back to school bus driving as a part time job to pay the bills. Not a bad option, but the early (5:30am) mornings are pretty challenging for me. I've never been a morning person, so having to get up that early is really difficult. The upside is that I can work on the business during the day and in the evenings. I've also taken on working in the charter department to fill in the gaps when the school I drive for has days off and holidays, which are many. It's not a bad job, and the kids that I'm driving around are really good kids (most of the time) and it pays decently for the amount of hours that I'm actually  working. But I really did love working on the business full time and would like to get back to that soon. I'm in the process of doing some research on how to use social media to help market the business, so once I've got that stuff figured out and start implementing those tools, hopefully the success of the business will start to improve.

I think I need a better plan to move this business forward more quickly though. I've been feeling like I've just been meandering around with no direction and no idea of how to achieve my goals, which I know is probably 90% of the reason why we haven't been able to make this a full time gig. I need to get way more focused, but not sure where to start. Seems to be the same old story that I've been telling for the the last 5 years. Something needs to shift big time. So...I'm thinking that maybe posting some of my specific marketing goals that should help pick business up, should help me to get more focused. And then touching base with myself to make sure I'm doing what I said I would might be a great place to start. I have learnt a few small things about internet marketing, so at least I can start with that. So here goes:

My Marketing Targets for October 26, 2009:

1) Write one new article every month and get them out to the various article marketing websites. This one shouldn't be too difficult given that I write something new for every newsletter I send out.

2)  Do the same as #1, but do a new channeled message every month.

3) Add a new post to this blog and to the Thunderbird Sky blog once per week (every week!) and stay on top of that regularly.

4) Figure out how to use Twitter and research how it can help my marketing. Then start using it.

5) Start making video tutorials for You Tube and posting them.

6) Create  free report that would be of value to people, that they will get when they subscribe to our newsletter.

That's all I can think of for now. If anyone out there has any suggestions, please let me know. Okee Dokey. I need to go get some (ugh) housework done today cuz this place is a mess at the moment. Time to do some major decluttering. Maybe I'll do more regular posts here to log my progress in this whole process...hmm...
